Extruded Aluminium Interlocking Slats

The Mirage Series 2 Aluminium shutter is specifically designed as a multi-purpose security shutter. Available with solid slats or alternatively with slotted perforations giving an effective airflow of up to 43%. Also available with clear acrylic infill.

Application: Suitable for shop fronts, entrances, multi-purpose halls, sporting complexes, club rooms reception counters, arcades, hotel bars and bottle shops.

RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS

SIZES
The maximum recommended opening width for one person to operate by hand is 3500mm with a drop of 2100mm. Where openings exceed 3500mm or 8.1 square metres, we recommend using two shutters or alternatively consider motorising the wider openings. (For extra large openings refer to the Series 3 Shutter).

STANDARD CURTAIN
The curtain is assembled using 90mm wide x 1.4mm thick, solid extruded aluminium slats. Nylon end clips are fitted to the ends of every alternate slat to prevent lateral movement and provide a quiet and smooth operation.

CURTAIN ALTERNATIVES
Slotted Slats (Ventilation) - Any number of the aluminium slats can be punched with 152mm wide x 54mm high slots. This gives an effective 43% ventilation per lineal metre of slat. (Refer to drawing.)

Standard Vision Shutter - The slotted slats can be covered with a 1.5mm thick clear acrylic infill to prevent the passage of dust and to give additional security. (Refer to drawing.)

Wideview Vision Shutter - The slats can also be punched with 300mm wide x 54mm high slots and covered with a 1.5mm thick clear acrylic infill. The width of the slot on the end may vary due to the size of the door. This gives an effective 50% ventilation per lineal metre of slat. (Refer to drawing.) 

ROLLER DRUM
The drum shall be manufactured from 200mm diameter mild steel and attached to pressed steel end caps. Helical coil oil tempered springs shall be installed inside the drum, the drum shall revolve on nylon bearings with the internal mechanism being completely concealed. Spring tension shall be adjusted on site and locked into operating position by the installer.

CHANNEL GUIDES
48mm x 30mm wide extruded aluminium section.

BRACKETS
The brackets are fabricated from mild steel slotted angle as standard.

BOTTOM RAIL
The bottom rail consists of a robust extruded aluminium section fitted with a rear cover plate designed to house a key operated two way locking mechanism.

OPERATION
Operation is by hand, with a pull-down rod being supplied if the shutter is too high to reach. Alternatively, an electric motor unit can be supplied. Please contact Mirage for further details.

LOCKING
Mirage outside bottom rail locking with plated solid steel shoots to side guides is standard.
Locking alternatives are:

►Single sided locking (outside or inside).
►Two way locking.
►Outside and inside (inside locking by key or rear snib).
►Sliding pad-bolts to each end of bottom rail (padlocks supplied by others).
►Lockwood 570 series cylinder keyed to one side only. Designed to enable the 'client' to master key to their requirements by others. Please note that this cylinder protrudes from the face of the bottom rail by up to 25mm.

FINISH
Standard colour is anodised matt natural. Other colours and powdercoat finishes are also available on request.
