RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS
Steel Roller Shutter, 4-hour fire rated, as manufactured by Mirage
Industries Pty. Ltd., Australia. Product Code SR/FS/100.
CURTAIN
Constructed from interlocking, galvanised, steel roll-formed slats,
100mm x 1.0mm with cast iron end clips fixed with rivets.
ROLLER DRUM ASSEMBLY
A robust, seamless mild steel tube, 168mm O.D. x 5mm wall. A
mild steel shaft 42mm x 4.0mm with sealed bearings is incorporated. These are
self-aligning. The axle is fixed through 10mm mild steel brackets mounted to
75mm x 75mm x 8mm steel angles.
BOTTOM RAILS AND
GUIDES
The bottom rail comprises 50mm x 50mm x 4mm Duragal steel
angles, mounted back-to-back of the bottom slat. Vertical guides are
manufactured from galvanised, roll-formed mild steel 100mm x 48mm x 23mm thick
"U" channel. Fixing is by 40mm x 8mm mild steel fixing lugs, spaced at
700mm centres.
OPERATION AND GEARBOX
By hand chain through a reduction gearbox mounted onto one end
of the drum. The reduction gearbox incorporates a manual fire door
hoist-controlled descent mechanism and a fusible link rated at 80ºC.
Limitations are as follows:
#Manual operation by hand-maximum 2000mm wide x 2000mm high
#Chain operation - maximum 8000mm wide x 7000mm high, to an overall maximum of 22.0m²
#Electric operation 1 h.p. 3 phase - maximum 8000mm wide x 7000mm high, to an overall maximum of 32.0m²
#Electric operation 1.5 h.p. 3 phase -maximum 8000mm wide x7000mm high, to an overall maximum of 40.0m²
ORIENTATION
The Test Door covered by CERTIFICATE OF TEST 1041 was tested
with the drum and descent limiting gear exposed to the fire.
The Standard is AS 1530.4-2005.
SIZES
OPINION NUMBER FCO - 1832, issued by the CSIRO on 11 May 2005 to MIRAGE
conditionally permits sizes up to 8000mm wide x 7000mm high,to a maximum of 40m² overall
The OPINION refers
exclusively to the performance conditions of the roller shutter door system if
it were subject to fire test according to AS 1530.4-2005.
